Goji Berry
GOJI BERRY
INCI: Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract
OBTAINING: Lyciet (Lycium barbarum) is a small shrub native to China that belongs to the solanaceous family (tomato, eggplant, potato...).
It produces red berries, similar to small elongated cherries, slightly sweet and of low acidity. "Goji" is their trade name in our regions. As it grows, it takes on a somewhat indeterminate habit, with arched branches with a strong tendency to elongate. At the beginning of summer, it is adorned with small purple and white star-shaped flowers, replaced around September by berries. There are goji crops in Inner Mongolia and some farms in the western Himalayas, towards the Kashmir region.
BENEFITS: Goji berry is an excellent antioxidant that protects against free radicals, slows down premature aging, promotes tissue growth and repair and also has an anti-inflammatory action. Rich in flavonoids, vitamins A and C and amino acids to deeply hydrate the skin and keep it young. When consumed dried, the berries contain vitamins B1, B2, B6, and E and interesting minerals (zinc, iron, copper, calcium, germanium, selenium and phosphorus).
